The power of audio was already in ascendency way before the world was forced inside over a year ago. In fact, when we debuted The Future of Audio in 2019 – the first B2B event dedicated to celebrating all corners of audio advertising – it was clear that the growth, innovation and engagement that could be achieved from an audio campaign was perhaps the best kept secret in advertising.

But as our daily lives changed irrevocably on 23 March 2020, so did our relationship with audio devices. Not only is the consumer listening now more than ever, but the role in which radio, podcasts, streaming and smart speakers have played – and more importantly, will continue to play – is becoming increasingly more apparent. That has not been lost on the savvy marketers of this world, who are now learning more through the listening behaviours of the consumers thanks to the continued acceleration of technology, more than ever before.

Unlike any other event in this space, we celebrate and embrace the creativity, strategy and development of technology, that continues to see audio break down boundaries and offer a variety of ways to reach your target audience, communicate with them, and increasingly create immediate calls to action or responses from the listener.

At the third annual Future of Audio event, we continue to explore the evolution of radio, to debate the opportunities within the world of podcasts, to better understand how streaming helps us learn more about the listener than ever before, and how voice activated technology is prompting real-time responses and purchases from the consumer.
